Time flies, and it's almost time to go

Just one week left for departure. Even though it felt like eternity back in February when I found my family, time has passed by so fast, and now we're almost there.

Yesterday I finaly graduated from Aalborg University with a Bachelor-degree in History. After the exam was over, I went with my study group to a restaurant to celebrate three years of studying together had come to an end. We each part ways after this semester. I for my part will begin at the 'Master of Arts (MA) in History' by begining of September.

Suite cases has been brought out, and I have packed most of my hand lugage. Couldn't wait.

Today I went to get hold on some TSA-locks for the suitecases. Why is that? Well, TSA-locks has this feature that security at Airports can open the locks by a special key, so they won't destroy the suitecase, nor the lock. Tomorrow I go to the local Administration to get an International driving licens, that I am able to drive legaly in the States.

DNA testing and how it helped me In this blog entry I will try to introduce which tools I have used to find my family. Autosomal DNA testing companies are a rather new business which is fast growing. About ten years ago science developed a way to analyse DNA mapping relatives on a larger scale. A ton of DNA testing companies has risen, but only a few are really reliable and trust worthy. These companies also varies on how many testers they have in their database, but also where geographicly they are most popular. Autosomal DNA-testing companies Ancestry.com is the largest of them all with a database of more than 10 million testers, primarily from USA. This company is the #1 company among Americans. Ancestrys primaer focus is genealogy, but also ethnicity estimation. Test costs about $99, but has offers down to $59 in connection with American holidays.  23andMe.com is the second largest with a database about 5 million testers. Called by National media...

Today I was called by a Danish National Weekly Magazine, who wished to hear more of my and my family's story. We talked for about 45 minutes, and she (the journalist) was blown away. Never in her entire career has she ever heard of such a wild story containing so many layers, so many smaller stories, so many details. We agreed she will come by next week for a propper interview and a photographer to do some photo shoots.  This is going to be exciting. What might this bring? Only time will know...
